Go Chicks GO!

So did you watch the Grammy's last night?! Even if you didn't, I'm sure by now you heard that the Dixie chicks just couldn't STOP winning awards.

What I think was the funniest was when they won in the category of best country album and country performance by a duo or group with vocal. All this when MOST country stations have banned them. If you watch their documentary, Shut Up And Sing, you'll see that the chicks didn't even really know what category of music they belonged in once country started to disown them.

I just read on www.dixiechicks.com that following:

CMT has announced that the Dixie Chicks’ “Not Ready to Make Nice” video is a first round nominee in three categories for the upcoming 2007 CMT Music Awards: Video of the Year, Group Video of the Year, and Video Director of the Year (Sophie Muller). Fan voting to narrow the eight initial nominees in each category down to the final four nominees takes place through Feb 23rd . You can vote HERE.

I can't wait for the CMT awards. NOW that should be an interesting show to watch!!

Just goes to show you that if you love and believe in what you're doing...don't give up! EVEN when it looks darker than you ever thought possible. Believe in yourself, believe in your dreams....AND ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE! Just ask the Dixie Chicks!

Shut up and Sing?! Not the Dixie Chicks!!!

A few weeks ago I was able to go see the Dixie Chicks documentary, "Shut Up And Sing" and I LOVED IT. I've been a Dixie Chick fan for a very very long time. This whole new CD they've created is just awesome. The "Shut Up And Sing" song is my personal favaorite. It's amazing what's happened since the little comment that basically shut down the Chicks business.

And now the Chicks have been nominated in all general catagories they could be nominated in...which is pretty awesome. Especially once you watch this documentary and see how the world pretty much turned on the Chicks.

If you get a chance, watch this movie. It's about women who believe in themselves, who aren't about to give up what they love doing, and have one heck of a come back.
